We have worked with some extraordinary organisations and people over the years. Here are some of them:

Art for Amnesty [link]

Communications INC was asked to coordinate and manage international media relations for the launch of the 'Small Places Tour' and the presentation of the Ambassador of Conscience Award to Peter Gabriel at the Hard Rock Café in London.

We coordinated the media strategy, press pack, talking points and media briefing notes and managed a packed press conference, photo call and paparazzi turn out on the day.

We have worked with Art for Amnesty on a number of projects over the years, including coordinating the 'Imagine' music project.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer [link]

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a success story - an organisation that has grown rapidly since its foundation nearly ten years ago. Recognising that rapid growth can lead to stresses within an organisation, Breakthrough has worked with Communications Inc to identify potential problems with internal communications and then address these.

Subsequent solutions included running a workshop between departments to identify opportunities to improve cooperation and information flow; an analysis of and recommendations around internal communications structures; and the development of a process for stakeholder engagement in a new internal communications strategy.

Deep Sea Conservation Coalition (DSCC) [link]

Communications INC has been working with the DSCC since shortly after its inception. We act as a member of the Coalition Coordination Team to provide communications advice and strategic direction and then conduct all the resulting communications work.

This involves running the website; developing, writing, designing, printing and dispatching publications in multiple languages; running a media outreach programme across every region of the world; developing and running special events, from receptions at the UN to press conferences; managing audio visual and photographic needs - all the usual communications tasks.

In addition, we've developed an animation; organised a film showing at the UN in New York accompanied by popcorn and deep sea cocktails; published a treasure map of the high seas; produced a report card on the performance of fisheries management organisations; run a 'Design a Deep Sea Creature' competition; organised an online petition; participated in lobbying meetings with ministers; organised scientific workshops and lectures; and tracked an orange roughy from New Zealand to Cornwall in the UK.

Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) [link]

Communications INC worked with the DEC to examine its relationship with broadcasters and then identify areas for evolution. We conceived and organised two meetings to bring together key people from the aid agencies and broadcast arena to discuss areas for development and improvement, then identified a series of actionable outcomes for the committee to progress.

Fish Fight [link]

Communications INC was asked by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's Fish Fight campaign to coordinate and manage translation of text across several languages, and to provide media support in key countries for their rollout across Europe.

Friends of the Earth [link]

Communications INC was called in to coordinate a pan-European campaign and communications meeting. We provided strategic advice around the development of the meeting and its execution, facilitated the meeting to ensure that it was effective and met the desired outcomes and produced structured feedback, with an outcomes document to identify future needs.

Global Campaign for Climate Action (tcktcktck) [link]

Communications INC became involved with the tcktcktck campaign at the start of 2010, to help the organization develop a new strategy to move the campaign forward after the disappointing outcome at the Copenhagen COP. We created a new communications vision and strategy which included reframing climate change for the years ahead. We evolved a series of products including a style and tone guide and continue to support the Campaign around specific media moments.

Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) [link]

Communications INC runs a full spectrum communications campaign for GWEC in support of its work on climate change. We wrote the strategy for the campaign, developed the concept behind its public aspect and now execute these across a range of media platforms, including the production of an animated film, a viral widget and advertising.

The campaign is global but proactively targeted in China, India, Brazil, US and UK, where we manage media outreach, events and other campaign tasks. In addition to media monitoring, we also research the media markets and prevailing attitudes to wind power, climate change, and the international climate process in these territories to inform the campaign strategy and outreach approaches.

Greenpeace [link]

Communications INC was tasked with integrating Greenpeace's messaging about Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) into its broader web-based marine communications.

In order to achieve this we conducted an analysis of all marine communications to establish why MPAs were not well integrated, diagnosed some communications challenges in the existing approach and suggested solutions for overcoming these.

We then redrafted all web copy to reflect the new approach.

In a different collaboration, we developed and executed a marketing plan for a Greenpeace fisheries campaign on blacklists, which developed and placed print and online advertising in various outlets around strategic campaign opportunities, including an International Herald Tribune wrap distributed at a seafood fair.

High Seas Alliance [link]

Communications INC has been instrumental in establishing the Alliance, organising its founding workshop and managing its UN launch, landing page and initial documentation. We continue to provide communications advice and support.

International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) [link]

Communications INC was taken on to help IANSA lobby the UN. We began by reframing the small arms issue in accessible and compelling language and ensured that all communications materials reflected this approach. Next, with a view to bringing both the issues and the organisation to the fore, we planned and executed an extensive media campaign aimed at opinion formers in key territories as well as the general public. Finally, based on regular evaluation of the campaign, we developed a long-term strategy to help the issue remain a global priority.

International Alert (IA) [link]

Communications INC worked closely with IA's in-house communications team in a supportive and advisory capacity, both for specific events and on an ad hoc basis. After conducting scene-setting internal research, we worked together to produce both short and long-term communications strategies, involving proactive and coordinated media relations, publications production and web development, all of which were aimed at raising public awareness and understanding of the issues. Our involvement in the implementation of these strategies ranged from hands-on event management and logistics and media relations support to simply providing advice when called upon. We also ran interview training with the organisation's key spokespeople.

International Programme on the State of the Ocean (IPSO) [link]

IPSO was established to build a greater understanding of how the Ocean functions at an Earth System level and its role in sustaining life on Earth. The aim of IPSO is to drive change in the way the Ocean is managed and protected and Communications INC provides whatever services the organisation needs. This has included brand and publication development, event management and media work.

In April 2011 we managed an international media launch of the IPSO State of the Ocean Report. It was the biggest ocean story globally of the year being covered in thousands of outlets in over 52 countries.

Island Hospice [link]

In the face of extraordinary challenges, Island Hospice provides palliative care and support services to people with terminal illnesses and their carers in Zimbabwe.

For Island's 30th anniversary, Communications INC is running a fundraising and PR strategy to help the hospice establish a network of supporters and donors to help with the increasing number of people requiring its services.

Over the anniversary year, Communications Inc will organise a fundraising event, oversee fundraising applications to relevant bodies, conduct media outreach to increase the profile of the hospice with potential donors, and establish a UK support group.

J.M. Kaplan Fund [link]

Communications INC conducted a strategic analysis of the threats to the high seas and the opportunities for this US Trust to catalyse change through its philanthropy.

In addition, we developed two new projects for the Trust that take an innovative approach to high seas protection, both of which are now in development.

Communications Inc continues to liaise with the Trust and acts as Communications Adviser on the new projects.

OCEAN2012 [link]

Communications INC works directly with OCEAN2012's comms team as they develop its strategy and implement its media campaigns. OCEAN2012 is an alliance of organisations dedicated to transforming European Fisheries Policy to stop overfishing, end destructive fishing practices and deliver fair and equitable use of healthy fish stocks. The focus of OCEAN2012’s work is the ongoing reform of the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) which will be completed in 2012.

We've developed the campaign's brand identity, written, designed and produced a range of publications in several languages, and helped to develop and implement their operational strategy, which will be rolled out across Europe in the coming years.

We also co-ordinated a number of premieres of the film, The End of the Line, which addresses overfishing, in key EU Member States in 2009.

Ovacome [link]

Communications INC is conducting a communications review for Ovacome to help the organization consider how it communicates with different audiences, the tools used and opportunities to diversify or adapt.

OXFAM [link]

Working with Oxfam Germany and France, Communications Inc ran a workshop to help the partners in an EU-funded project to develop the core elements of a new communications strategy. The project will raise awareness of the impacts of climate change on poverty eradication, so the workshop considered key audiences across the target territories and their existing levels of understanding and engagement with the issues. Comms INC is also writing the strategy resulting from this workshop, including developing a new frame for the issue, with associated messaging.

STARS Foundation [link]

We work closely with the STARS Foundation, providing the organisation with a full media service, from consultancy and advice on future expansion and the resulting communications demands required, to assistance with international Awards events and promotion. We handle all the Foundation's media work in the UK, Africa and Asia and provide support and training to the recipients of the STARS Impact Awards. We also manage the filming and production of the annual Awards films.

The Shark Alliance [link]

On board since the beginning, Communications INC develops, coordinates and implements The Shark Alliance's communications strategy. We provide a full media service, both proactive and reactive, which includes ensuring the Alliance is on-message, researching, targeting and maintaining media contacts, and planning and handling media campaigns.

After initially developing and implementing the branding of the Alliance and developing a web strategy, we now monitor the house style, manage the web site and write, design and produce all campaign material, whether print, online or audio visual. We also provide budget management and support and advice for members and develop and oversee the logistics of high-profile events in key EU member states.

WWF [link]

Communications INC has worked with WWF International on a number of projects. We contributed to an analysis of the organisation's work on bluefin tuna and then went on to write, design and produce the Bluefin Witness report and Witness series. This included developing the concept and branding for 'Witness' as a longer-term device for the organisation.

We then worked with International and the EU office to develop a communications strategy and related operational products around the organisation's European work on overfishing. The strategy was developed after we had conducted an analysis of existing communications on overfishing and fisheries and the prevailing political context within which the campaign needs to operate.

Identifying the need for a reframing of the issue, the strategy set out a new frame, a message pathway to support it, and a series of factsheets and other briefing materials to present the information in the new way.
